Technical Writer

Arcserve is seeking a Technical Writer for our Hyderabad, India office. Our culture fosters hard work, individual accountability, and execution.

As a Technical Writer at Arcserve, you will be responsible to support Arcserve Global development team by working on software documentation for system administrators and users. Arcserve excels in developing product related to Backup and Storage domain, and the suitable Writer needs to have a good understanding of terminology and process required to understand database and back-end work in software development.

As a Technical Writer you will bring your skills and grow in the following areas:

Mandatory Skills:

  • Good technical understanding of software development and work-flow.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in using MadCap Flare tool for documentation.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Technical documentation with 2+ years mandatory in a product development company. Description of General Work:
  • Working independently as well as part of a large distributed team.
  • Handling one or multiple products/projects depending upon requirement.
  • Research, and write documentation for new or existing products.
  • Work closely in agile project development with development, product management, quality assurance, user experience/design, training, and support personnel.

Required Skills:

  • University degree or Technical Writing college diploma in relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience
  • Excellent knowledge and experience authoring in HTML and XML editing tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience writing in a structured authoring environment and single-sourcing.
  • Knowledge of how to create and use graphics in technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of MS-Visio

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of other authoring tool, such as Author-it/Framemaker or RoboHelp
  • Experience with bug tracking tools, such as JIRA or TFS.
  • Ability to write and design minimalist information.
  • Experience working in an agile development process.
