Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic senior marketing communications specialist to manage external and internal communications that promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information on our company’s behalf. As a global senior marketing communications specialist, you will create and execute marketing communications plans to elevate the brand profile of Arcserve. This is a detail-orientated position that requires the management of projects end-to-end. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, you will work closely with the global marketing department, product marketing and sales to ensure all communications tactics and content are on message and in line with the overall marketing strategy.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Define, drive and follow up the day-to-day marketing communications activities as well as long-term marketing communications strategy
  • Partner with the global marketing team, product marketing and sales to help develop and execute communications tactics to achieve marketing goals
  • Create various communications deliverables, including but not limited to presentations, news releases, media/analyst pitches, articles, case studies, videos, data sheets, internal and external surveys, internal and executive communications, and other thought leadership material
  • Assist in the coordination of public relations activities, communicating PR plans and deliverables to the global Arcserve marketing team and PR agencies. Support the development of byline articles and blogs, and speaking opportunities with national and trade press. Prepare spokespeople as necessary
  • In conjunction with external agencies and the Director of Communications, recommend and support social media strategies that build brand awareness and foster long-term relationships
  • In conjunction with global marketing and sales, define and execute customer advocacy program to strengthen relationships, and identify advocates and detractors
  • Provide direction for creative concepts. Work with internal resources as well as external agencies to project manage the production of graphics, web and other print or online deliverables
  • Help maintain the Arcserve internal Intranet and website, ensuring resources are relevant, accurate and consistent with branding and messaging
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness and usage of communication vehicles as well as messaging
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication content
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, marketing, or online communications within a corporation or agency

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • An understanding of B-to-B marketing within the technology industry preferred
  • Excellent verbal, writing, editing and presentation skills, with the ability to develop original content
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required
  • Excellent project management skills, including a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with focused attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and communicate orally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to flourish in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and work with a diverse group of professional marketers
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures
