We’ve protected critical business data for 25 years.
Once synonymous with legendary tape backup software, we’ve since been hard at work, learned some new tricks, and reinvented the industry.
Today, we’re a leading provider of next-generation data protection solutions.
How did we get here?
Our company first emerged in 1990 as Cheyenne Software, and we quickly flourished as a backup software provider with our flagship ARCserve BACKUP product.
Fueled by a series of cutting-edge product launches, our growth continued, making us one of the most competitive brands on the market.
In 1996, our company was acquired by CA Technologies (formerly known as Computer Associates International, Inc.).
After 18 years as a product line under the CA Technologies umbrella, we struck out on our own—an independent, private data protection company under the ownership of Marlin Equity Partners in 2014.
We understood the importance of being nimble.
So we built out our portfolio of data protection technologies with an eye toward flexibility, scalability, and ease-of-use.
We were then first to market with a unified data protection solution that offered comprehensive features and functionality, including industry-proven backup, replication, high availability, and true global deduplication—all managed from a single pane of glass. We called it Arcserve Unified Data Protection, or Arcserve UDP, and launched it first as software, next as a physical appliance and then as a Disaster Recovery as a Service cloud option. Most recently, we released the next generation of our award-winning appliances to deliver unparalleled resilience and scalability.
As the first all-in-one solution for cloud, virtual, and physical environments, we not only continue to expand our data protection technology solutions, we are building a name for ourselves as both a pioneer and leader in the data backup and recovery space.
Today, we proudly offer award-winning data backup and recovery solutions.
And, those solutions are used by 45,000 end users in more than 150 countries through 7,500 distributors, resellers, and service providers around the world.
Take a trip with us down memory lane.
