This is the fourth and final post in recognition of October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCAM)—a collaborative effort between government and industry. Over the past few years we’ve seen an explosion of internet-connected devices. While most of us probably picture our phones and our PCs when we talk about devices, that’s just a small slice of the pie. According to Statista, the number of mobile devices—phones and the like—stood at 14.02 billion in 2020. Now, with the onset of the internet of things (IoT) era, Statista reports that the total number of connected IoT devices will rocket from 22 billion in 2018 to 38.6 billion by 2025. That’s a lot of devices!
What do all those devices mean in terms of data security? Unfortunately, each of those new, connected devices presents another opportunity for cybercriminals to potentially access your network and your data.
So Many Devices, So Much Risk
Secure Every Connected User and Every Connected Device
Your most important takeaway from NCAM should be that—whether it’s a network connection to an IoT-enabled vending machine or a new remote user joining your company—you need to be certain that the technologies are in place to secure every device on your network, everywhere, all of the time. That includes hardware and software solutions that prevent attacks, and solutions that make recovery both certain and simple. StorageCraft offers a range of options that do just that—for virtually any size business.Dig Deeper Into Device Security
