A recent independent study of senior IT leaders commissioned by Arcserve found that 80 percent of respondents have been hit by ransomware. While 82 percent of those affected by ransomware claim they recovered within 48 hours, nearly one in five did not. According to the same study, even if they recovered, they couldn't restore up to 30 percent of data initially affected by the ransomware attack.
The average cost of downtime for large organizations is $9,000 per minute. It can be even worse for smaller firms, as up to 60 percent of small companies are at risk of going out of business within six months of being victimized by a data breach or cyberattack.
But cyberattacks aren’t the only threat to businesses. According to the NOAA, as of July 2024, fifteen confirmed weather or climate disaster events had occurred in the United States, with losses exceeding $1 billion each.
Ultimately, prevention and fast recovery are the only ways to minimize the costs and impacts of a disaster.
It's a Hybrid World
Statista projects the hybrid cloud market will reach $262 billion in 2027, while the data center market will also grow from $123 billion in 2024 to $212 billion by 2029. That’s because on-premises and cloud environments each deliver unique benefits. Since you likely depend on both, a reliable disaster recovery (DR) solution with the flexibility to protect cloud and on-premises data is vital. Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) 10 is the solution.
Flexible, Cost-Effective Disaster Recovery
Arcserve UDP 10 is engineered to offer unmatched flexibility and efficiency in disaster recovery. It enables your organization to tailor its DR strategy to its unique requirements. Here’s how:
• Multiple Data Sources and Backup Destinations
Arcserve UDP 10 supports a wide range of data sources and backup destinations, both on-premises and in the cloud, including for providers Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, and Wasabi.
• Flexible Deployment Options
The software can be purchased as a standalone solution or pre-installed in an appliance.
• Versatile Licensing Options
Arcserve UDP 10 can be licensed on a per-socket subscription basis to reduce your total cost of ownership. Our advanced licensing system is tailored to different environments to ensure you pay only for what you need and can scale quickly as your company grows.
Enhanced Data Protection, Accelerated Recovery
Arcserve UDP 10 offers several additional high-value features that stand out from competitive offerings, including:
• Assured Security Scan
This feature scans your backup files for malware before restoration, preventing system reinfection and supporting business continuity. The scan detects malicious files in real time, so you can rest assured that your backups are clean and secure before you restore them.
• Ad-hoc Virtual Standby
Now, you can immediately recover with pre-configured virtual machines (VMs). With Ad-hoc Virtual Standby, you can initiate VMs on-demand, reducing both the cost and complexity of DR. If an outage hits you, this feature minimizes downtime by quickly provisioning the resources you need to keep your operations running.
• One-to-Many Replication Support
With its one-to-many replication support, Arcserve UDP 10 lets you replicate your backup data to multiple locations simultaneously. This reduces the risk of a single point of failure and provides added protection in the event of site-specific disasters. This feature also accelerates recovery times and increases data resilience by ensuring your backups are available from multiple sites.
Flexible DR: Essential Protection Against Data Loss and Downtime
Arcserve UDP 10 is designed to support today’s complex IT landscape, which includes increasingly diverse data sources, backup locations, and infrastructure. It supports both on-premises and cloud environments and offers flexible pricing and deployment options, meeting your evolving needs for managing and protecting complex, multisite environments.
The software delivers a complete solution, combining managing diverse data sources and backup destinations with the critical task of protecting company data against rising ransomware threats. This comprehensive approach also optimizes IT budgets so you can secure your data without overspending.
